Welcome to HMUG's mports trac site

The Huntsville Macintosh User's Group ports, also known as mports (the m could stand for Mac, My or Marius's), have been developed and are maintained by Marius Schamschula. Prebuilt packages for Mac OS X 10.5/Leopard (PPC only), 10.6/Snow Leopard and 10.7/Lion are available @ http://www.hmug.org/pub/MacOS_X, while port databases are being developed for Mac OS X 10.8/Mountain Lion. At this time there are no meta-packages: please refer to the README files for package dependencies.

Note: You need to have Xcode installed.

For a complete list of available packages and their current version and build date see the Status page. The Blog also lists new releases.

The basis for the build system are bash and Python scripts http://trac.hmug.org/browser/branches/mports3/bin with recipes contained in sqlite3 database files. Almost everything is installed into /usr/local.
